Objective

Ideally, I would like to pursue a career that incorporates my interest in the media, allowing me to be creative in my work.  My interests and my skills are split between film and multimedia work, specialising in editing.  I am currently working as a Flash Programmer.

Professional Achievements

Film Editing

§     Edited a 15 minute short childrens film, The Mighty Tykes.  Post-editing, I treated the film using Magic Bullet (developed by Lucas Film employees), a plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro allowing the film, shot on standard DV, to appear to have the quality of film stock and to create atmospheric colour treatment.

§     Edited on “Famehunter”, a short Rock/Mockumentary about the UK’s Air Guitar Champion.

§     Edited on several short films of varying genres.

§     My editing on The Mighty Tykes won the “Available Light Prize for Editing” (Bristol 2005).

Multimedia – Web based work

§     Designed several websites for clients including Capitek, Peverel, Lindley Law and others.

§     Coded, using php and Mysql, modules to help launch an ecommerce site in South Africa selling prescription spectacles online.

§     Developed ecommerce solutions for several companies, including iGlasses and Accent on Hair and Beauty.

Multimedia – Computer Games

§     Created two add-ons as a “1.5 party” developer for Cambridge games developer, Cyberlife (now Gameware).  These add-ons for the “Creatures” series of PC Games were sold through the original developer, using their tools, and sold well worldwide.  I was given access to their development tools and documentation which I used to develop my knowledge of coding.

§     Created a prototype for an educational piece of software, called Poetech, as part of a Nesta funded hothouse weekend with two colleagues.

§     Currently developing a standalone virtual pet game called Melloweh.  The prototype was nominated for the “HP Award for Multimedia” (Bristol, 2005).

§     Working for i-board as a Flash programmer, working in Active Script on educational games for primary school children.

Marketing/Advertising

§     Worked for The Hawthorns, Clevedon developing a marketing strategy for their UK buildings alongside the management team.  Developed websites, promotional material and advertising for the company.

§     Currently working on rebranding Lindley Law.  I am working on the web based strategy, implementing a modern revamp for the company and developing an online quotation system.

Relief Manager

§     Have worked as a Relief Manager for a Retirement Hotel providing gracious retirement living.

§     Trained in all aspects of managerial work including staff training, health and safety, pay roll, rent roll, first aid, accounts and the day to day running of such a facility.

§     Responsible for over a hundred residents/guests and over fifty members of staff.  In a position of working with people day-in, day-out.
